Spelling Lists

The Spelling Process Contract/Test Days
  • Every Friday students take a pre-test in spelling                                                   and based on their results, this determines if they are                                            on the regular list or alternate list.
  • To be on the Alternate List a student can miss no more                                            than one word on a spelling test.
  • After taking the pre-test, students are given two copies of their                         spelling lists and a contract to be completed.
  • After students write down any bonus words that they have,                                   then they cut their spelling sheet in half.
  • One half goes in their take home folder while the other goes                                 in their writing folder.
Spelling Contracts are always due on Thursday morning.  Thursday morning is also the day of the test for that unit.  Each day that a spelling contract is late, points will be deducted.
